Customer Reviews:
Mono vs Multi (2003-07-30)
This magazine is most certainly not for you monohull sailors.

Totally devoted to mulithulls, it comes out bi-monthly and offers a slew of information on these types of boats: catamarans, trimarans, racing cats, etc. The magazine bills itself as "The largest and more informative multihull magazine read worldwide." Not too sure about that, but here in the US, it’s one of two magazines on multihulls I was able to find, the other being "Multihulls World."

"Multihulls’" content is quite good. You usually get several articles (or letters) from actual multihull sailors sharing their experiences, reviews of new multihull boats and extensive coverage of regattas and racing (perhaps a bit too much.) The back section has some ads, but not as many as in other sailing magazines, like "Blue Water Sailing" or "Cruising World."

The magazine itself is well bound, seems sturdy, so if you’re keeping it on the boat, it won’t get damaged easily. The pictures inside could be bigger, to better show off the boats and destinations, and for a bi-monthly publication, I was expecting more boat reviews. If you’re looking for boat tests, I’ve found that "Multihulls World" has the upper hand.

The most annoying thing is the type face used to write the content. It’s not the standard Times-Roman used in other magazines and (to me anyway), it makes the content harder to read somehow.

Overall, it’s pretty good, but could be better. I get both "Multihulls" and "Multihull World" and prefer the latter despite its international slant.
