The magazine provides a wide range of information about all the issues relevant to the user (boater) of French inland Waterways. It includes a variety of information that is mainly aimed at pleasure boaters, however some professional boaters that we have encountered also read the magazine. The format of the magazine has evolved over the years to become more commercial (with larger sections devolved to advertising for rental boats, yards, brokers, classified) but covers a variety of interesting reading that are of interest to both the beginner and the experienced boater. Usual features in the magazine are waterway specific news items; review of a canal or river in terms of mooring facilities, features and recommendations; practical owner section; stories from boaters; reports on special events (such as opening of a new canal or water festival); new product developments of (potential) interest to boaters; and review or description of a particular boat.
What I like is the variety of information available and the good quality of the magazine presentation. Some information contained in issues that are several years old is still relevant and worth keeping the magazine for, especially for those planning an extended cruise through France. The magazine if of lesser relevance to boaters outside France, albeit that in increasing amount of non-French items (including adverts) are featured in the magazine.
